As a teacher & facilitator, areas of focus include: - movement, sound and text improvisation - expression through the body & through space - understanding of the theatrical space as performer - performative presence/ holding space - developing a creative, aware and articulate use of the body - in abstraction and naturalism, with and without text - physical connection to and with text - the development and physicalisation of character - devising of solo work - integrated & inclusive practice > working with groups (student and professional) that are made up of disabled and non-disabled people; this includes physical and learning disabilities.
Angela regularly teaches at RADA as part of the Short Courses and BA teams. Previous posts held: Head of Movement on Italia Conti's Acting BA programme (2007-2012); Course Director of Fourth Monkey's Two Year Rep Actor Training Programme (2012-2017). Angela has also taught at the following schools/companies: Rose Bruford, ArtsEd, Graeae.
At RADA Angela has been the Physical Performance Tutor for the NYU/RADA Shakespeare in Performance Programme since 2015.
Angela was Access Advocate and Specialist Movement Tutor for a wheelchair-using student who trained on the BA (2018-2022).
